Australian College of Applied Psychology

ACAP specialises in the area of applied psychology. This looks at how people interact with each other and with the community as a whole, what motivates people’s actions and, how to deal with individuals in a community and/or professional setting.

ACAP focuses on:

  • Counselling
  • Communication
  • People Management
  • Psychology
  • Leadership

Located at multiple campuses across Australia: ACAP is based at three campuses in Australia; Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. This means you can choose where you want to study (please note. Psychology courses only available at Sydney Campus) and, if you want the experience of studying at more than one campus ACAP will pay for a portion of your airfares between cities.

Focused education: ACAP has been teaching applied psychology with specialist courses in counselling, people management and leadership for over 25 years.

Small classes: You get to study in classes with an average of no more than 20 students* so you will get to know your fellow students and your educator.

Focus on interactive learning: Teaching at ACAP focuses on giving you the skills and knowledge to understand people and the way they work. To do this we use interactive teaching which involves you working with other students, your educator and clients*.

Flexibility: You can study on campus, via flexible delivery (online), or you can study mixed mode with a combination of the three.

Educators who practice in the field: The educators* that ACAP hires to teach you are current practitioners in the field*. This means they bring their work experience to the practice of teaching and pass on not only the latest methods but also real life examples.

The chance to practice your skills while you study: The majority of courses at ACAP include a portion of fieldwork (an unpaid placement in a business related to your study). This means that you get to practice your skills in a work environment before you graduate, you get to taste what it is like to work in a certain area and, you get the chance to meet other professionals giving you experience on your CV and potential contacts before you graduate.

The opportunity to start at a time that suits you: ACAP has three terms and a Summer school and this means there are four opportunities for you to start your study with ACAP.
