Conflict Management

The Conflict Management unit presents the theory, processes and dynamics of conflict and provides opportunities for applying the skills of conflict resolution, negotiation and mediation to a range of circumstances and contexts. The effective management of conflict situations between people, within teams and within an organisation are explored throughout this unit. Students develop attributes and capabilities to work with issues of conflict and to effectively manage its resolution. Students integrate theory and skill application through supervised role-play simulation, reflection groups, structured exercises and activities.

Unit Duration and Workload

This unit involves a total of 36 hours of face to face delivery of self directed study including educator contact in flexible delivery modes, generating a further 54 hours of self-study per unit including research and related study activities, including assessment. This translates to 7.5 hours per week for the unit.
