For all students, fees are one of the largest portions of costs when it comes to studying but as a student you need to be aware that there are other costs, primarily textbooks, that you need to consider.
ACAP courses are priced per module or unit and you pay term by term, for the modules or units in which you have enrolled.
FEE-HELP is a government loan available to eligible students studying one of ACAP's Higher Education courses to help pay part or all of their tuition fees. To apply for FEE-HELP you will need to read the FEE-HELP information booklet . If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa you are eligible to receive FEE-HELP. If you are eligible and would like to defer your fees through FEE HELP, please complete our online 'Request for FEE-HELP assistance' form or request for one by calling 1800 061 199 and return the completed form to our Sydney campus.
VET FEE-HELP is available to eligible students studying one of ACAP's VET accredited courses. To apply for VET FEE-HELP you will need to complete read the VET FEE-HELP booklet. If you wish to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in one of our VET accredited courses this will be treated as a tuition fee of 50% (of the module price). VET FEE-HELP assistance may be available to eligible students applying for RPL.
ACAP offers a number of scholarships each year to assist students pay part or all of their tuition fees. Eligible students must be Australian citizens or holders of permanent humanitarian visa. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship please visit www.acap.edu.au/Scholarships.html

Local students (i.e. not on a temporary entry visa) may be eligible for student income support from Centrelink. Centrelink is the official Australian Commonwealth Government agency which assesses income, administers payments and ensures effective distribution of information on benefits, allowances and pension payments as per the Social Security Laws.
All ACAP diploma, associate degree, bachelor, bachelor (honours), graduate certificate and graduate diploma course programs are recognised by Centrelink as approved courses for student income support.
Centrelink only recognises coursework masters programs as eligible for student income support where the qualification has been deemed essential for entry to, or employment in the profession. ACAP’s Master of Applied Social Science (Counselling) and Master of Psychology (Clinical) course programs are recognised by Centrelink as approved courses for student income support.
Centrelink Income Support Assistance programs for students include Youth Allowance, Austudy and ABSTUDY.
Youth Allowance is available to eligible students who are enrolled in an approved course and are 18-24 years old and are studying at least 75% of a full-time load, or are 16–20 years old and are looking for full-time work or undertaking a combination of approved activities. Students who are 16-17 years old (or 15 in certain circumstances) and are studying at least 75% of a full-time load in an approved course and need to live away from home to study, or are considered independent may be eligible for Youth Allowance.
Austudy is available to eligible students who are aged 25 or over and are studying at least 75% of a full-time load in an approved course. Unlike Youth Allowance, there is no independence test for Austudy. If you qualify for Austudy you are considered independent. This means the parental means test does not apply.
ABSTUDY assistance is available to eligible Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students who are enrolled in an approved course and are not receiving any other government assistance to study.

Text books and readings
Some units or modules will require you to work with a designated textbook – you may wish to purchase the textbook or, alternatively, borrow it from the library. Textbooks cost around $150 and can, for instance, be purchased from the Co-Op Bookshop. Most units or modules will also have a study manual and readings which can either be downloaded from your online class space at no cost, or purchased from the Co-Op book shop (the cost is around $20 per manual or readings pack).

EFTSL - Equivalent Full Time Student Load
Equivalent full-time student load (EFTSL) is a measure of a student's study load. An EFTSL of 1.0 is the standard annual study load of a student undertaking a course on a full-time basis over the duration of a year. The annual EFTSL sum of a student's module / unit enrolment provides an indication of the study load undertaken by the student in the year.

Tuition Assurance
Tuition Assurance protects the interests of current and intending students of ACAP courses that lead to an accredited award in that it ensures students are given a suitable alternative course or have their course money refunded if the provider cannot provide the course for which the student has paid.
ACAP is a member of the ASTAS – VET ( Australian Tuition Assurance Scheme – VET), ASTAS - HE (Australian Tuition Assurance Scheme – Higher Education), and OSTAS (Overseas Student Tuition Assurance Scheme) which is part of the ESOS (Education Service for Overseas Students) Assurance Fund established under section 45 of the ESOS Act 2000.
