Counselling Skills 2

This module is a continuation of Counselling Skills 1 and provides breadth and depth to the student's framework for the counselling process and the application of counselling skills.

Students develop further understanding of the theory and practice of counselling and counselling terminology; learn how to establish a counselling contract; to conduct the initial counselling session; to manage and maintain a client case load and the importance and necessity of supervision. Counselling Skills 1 & 2 are linked with Methods of Counselling 1 & 2 and together, all four modules provide a solid theoretical and practical foundation for counselling.

Pre-requisite: Successful completion of Counselling Skills 1

This module is available on campus, by distance education or online.

The studies, combined with my previous work experience, have led me into a more satisfying role in an industry I know well. My studies have given me the confidence to manage a role where top notch "soft skills" are essential.
