Leading and Visioning

Students of this module acquire an understanding and appreciation of contemporary models of leadership. The skills, attributes, and roles of leaders in business contexts are explored along with the impact that ethics, power and influence necessarily have on styles of leadership. Students study the nature of visioning and leading in organisational contexts; how to develop and strategically implement an organisation's vision, mission and operational plan; how to plan strategically; and how to manage people and organisations so as to instil a culture of cooperation, responsiveness, high performance, innovation and continual improvement.

The studies, combined with my previous work experience, have led me into a more satisfying role in an industry I know well. My studies have given me the confidence to manage a role where top notch "soft skills" are essential.
