Information Evenings and Open DaysACAP has Information Evenings and Open Days which give you the opportunity to find out more about the College and give you a taste of who we are. Information Evenings are conducted over an hour after work during the week. The hour consists of a presentation that covers: the learning experience, benefits of studying at ACAP and professional and personal outcomes you can gain through studying our courses. You will also have a chance to speak to staff who will be able to answer any of your questions. Our Open Days are held over 4 hours on a Saturday and include presentations from staff and mini classes hosted by our educators. They will also give you the opportunity to talk to College staff and students and ask them any questions you may have. I left school at 15 before completing the School Certificate. I married at 17 and started a family at 19. The only training I had done before ACAP, was a TAFE Certificate in accounting to assist in the family business. I was very nervous about studying but the support I received was terrific. Being able to build upon modules into a Certificate IV through to the Bachelors is a terrific advantage. I can set goals and achieve them. My plan is to have a counselling practice for children and families specialising in the area of grief and trauma. I have personal experience in this area and hope to be able to bring benefit to others.
