Addressing Statutory and Organisational Information Needs
This module is comprised of one unit of competency – Meet statutory and organisation information needs.
This module examines the role of information systems within community service organisations and introduces students to the complexities involved in managing such systems. Issues of privacy and confidentiality are discussed, as is the process of developing appropriate information systems and evaluating their effectiveness.
Resource development is also examined, and students are introduced to the skills required in training staff in the area of information system development, implementation and evaluation.
Throughout this module, students are encouraged to consider what it is that constitutes an effective information system and to critically evaluate the information systems that they have used to date.

Module Duration and Workload
This module involves a total of 48 hours per term of study including a course work component, educator contact, research, related study activities, and completion of assessment tasks. This translates as 4 hours per week for the module.
