Cultural Diversity and Workplace Legislation

This module is designed to provide you with awareness of cultural diversity and workplace legislation and the implications of these when working in the counselling field. Students will be encouraged to consider the nature of cultural diversity and the ways in which they are able to work effectively with culturally diverse clients and co-workers, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. Students will also be asked to consider occupational health and safety issues in the workplace.

Skills and knowledge developed in this module are intended to be applied in a variety of workplace contexts.

Module Duration and Workload

This module involves a total of 96 hours per term of study including course work component, educator contact, research and related study activities, translating to approximately 8 hours of study per week. Students will need to allocate additional time for the completion of assessment activities related to the module.
