Manage Human Resource Services

This module looks at what is required to plan, oversee and deliver human resources services to an organisation, including activities such as recruitment and selection, remuneration, training and development, discipline and counselling, performance appraisal, occupational health and safety and industrial relations. These services many be provided internally but the HR department or externally by contractors or consultants. Regardless of the specific services provided, or whether it is provided internally or externally, this module discusses the development, monitoring and evaluation of service level agreements (SLAs) which document the specific activities to be performed, and minimum service levels, as a way of ensuring quality in the provision of HR services. This module also discusses legislation and ethics in relation to the provision of human resources services.

Module Duration and Workload

This module involves a total of 60 hours per term of study including a course work component, educator contact, research and related study activities, translating to approximately 5 hours of study per week. Students will need to allocate additional time for the completion of assessment activities related to the module.
