Manage Organisational Change
This module discusses how to manage change in an organisation to optimise the benefits the organisation receives and minimise the negative impacts. This is done by developing, implementing and evaluating change management strategies.
The module begins with a general discussion of change, including the types and models of change and the features of successful change. It continues by examining how organisations should monitor their internal and external environments to identify opportunities and problems which will require change. The module discusses how to prepare an organisation for change and how to overcome barriers to change such as employee resistance, organisational culture, and lack of skills and resources. It examines the activities and interventions organisations can use to help employees accept change, before discussing techniques for deciding on the most appropriate change strategy. The module looks at how to develop a communication plan for change, before concluding with discussions on how to implement and evaluate change management strategies.
