Manage Recruitment, Selection and Induction

This module discusses the skills and knowledge required to develop and manage recruitment, selection and induction processes that contribute to the achievement of an organisation's goals, as well as complying with all legal requirements. It begins by outlining preliminary activities in the recruitment and selection processes, such as job analysis and writing job descriptions, then examines sources of employees (internal and external) and different recruitment methods including advertising and recruitment consultants. Next it provides a detailed look at selection processes including processing applications, pre-employment tests and conducting interviews, before discussing the topics of induction and probation. This module concludes with information on the role of the HR function in developing and implementing organisation-wide policies for recruitment, selection and induction, and in monitoring and evaluating those policies to ensure they achieve the desired outcomes.
