Managing Learning and Development

This module describes how to manage learning and development in an organisation to create a climate of continuous learning. It begins by looking at the processes involved in becoming a learning organisation, one of which is implementing a career planning and development program. It then examines how to identify learning needs for individuals, groups and the organisation as a whole. Next, it discusses the principles of adult learning which must be considered when choosing training delivery methods. These may include informal (work-based) learning activities or formal (structured) learning activities.
The final weeks of the module concentrate on how to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate learning and development programs to ensure that they align with organisational objectives and deliver the intended performance outcomes.
