If you are working or want to work in a community services organisation, key case management skills will help you support each client as their key coordinating point of contact. Studying case management allows you to coordinate a range of services and service providers to achieve the best possible outcome for your clients.

The Diploma of Community Services (Case Management) at ACAP is a practical program that can help you find a new career in community organisations and government support services. And if you decide to take your case management study further, you'll have advanced standing (equivalent to 8 modules) when you apply for entry to ACAP's Bachelor of Applied Social Science.

This practical program is available to study by flexible delivery or on-campus in the CBD in Sydney and Brisbane. It will give you the skills to effectively work in case management in the community services sector, including:

  • Communication
  • Service co-ordination
  • Networking
  • Risk management, and
  • Occupational health and safety issues

Case management is focused on client needs and involves screening. As an advocate for your client, you can apply your skills to diverse settings such as the aged, youth, families, the long-term unemployed or those in residential institutions of various types.

At ACAP, you can study wherever you like, in your own time, as long as you have regular access to the internet. You’ll also need to attend three days of on-campus Case Management Workshops. These cover case management, communication skills and relationships, and intensive client work.
