My experience at ACAP has been a rich and challenging one. I really enjoyed that all my trainers, without exception, had a high degree of emotional intelligence and supported student development in a professional, approachable and sensitive way. Small class sizes created an intimate and nurturing setting. Trainers and students had an opportunity to really get to know each other during the course of a module, and to develop a level of trust that promoted a great environment for experimentation and learning. I found the college's focus on experiential teaching methods of great benefit in terms of truly developing a useful skillset. There's no substitute for 'doing' and bringing counselling theory alive through practice. Since graduating from ACAP I have been involved as a volunteer counsellor through my fieldwork organisation. My plan is to maintain my part-time market research work and supplement this with counselling work, either paid or voluntary. |

I had reached a point in life where I wanted to work with people in a meaningful way.
This course will allow me to use all my life experience, make a living and be fulfilled as a human being. It has given me stability in an uncertain world.
