Overseas health cover

It is a requirement that all international students obtain health insurance cover in Australia. The College can provide, through AHM, overseas student health cover at a cost of A$370.00 p.a. for an individual. Family cover is also available.

Cost of living

The Department of Immigration advises, as a guide, a minimum of AUD 16,600 p.a. to cover the costs of accommodation, transportation, food and entertainment. Add an additional 35% p.a. if you have a spouse. Add a further 20% p.a. if you have at least one child and a further 15% p.a. for each additional child. Please note that International visa students are permitted to work a maximum of 20 hours per week.

School-aged dependants

Please note that if you have any school-aged dependants accompanying you to Australia you will be required to pay full fees (about AUD 8.000 p.a.) to enrol them in a government school.

Travel costs

You will need to take account of costs associated with travelling to Australia if you are outside Australia when your application is made, and of returning to your home country at the end of your stay.

My ACAP experience was excellent. It was so wonderful attending intimate classes, meeting interesting people from diverse backgrounds and having the opportunity to communicate my opinions to others and learn from theirs. I made great friends and learned important counselling skills, which have been beneficial in all aspects of my life.
