Master of Applied Social Science (Counselling)
Working as a counsellor is an enriching experience, and this Masters program allows you to continue to develop your specialised skills, apply the latest research developments to practical cases and sharpen your understanding of the latest issues.
The Masters of Applied Social Science (Counselling) is a two-year program and is PACFA accredited. It is designed for those already working as counsellors, and combines a high level of academic rigour with ACAP’s uniquely practical approach to learning. Places are available on-campus in the CBD in Sydney and Brisbane. You can also study by flexible delivery which includes attendance at workshops on-campus.

| Modules | 12 modules, including two specialisation modules. One module (Advanced Clinical Supervision) requires you to have access to at least three clients. |
| Electives | Choose two electives from existential/humanistic therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive/behavioural therapy |

Counsellor Development Workshops
Counsellor Development Workshops (CDWs) are a requirement for students in the counselling specialisation who have studied through Flexible Delivery, and not completed a minimum of 3 of the following modules on campus:
- Counselling Skills 1
- Counselling Skills 2
- Social, Legal & Ethical Issues
- Counselling in Loss
- Family & Relationship Counselling
Counsellor Development Workshops (CDWs) provide a highly dynamic and interactive opportunity to apply skills and knowledge. They consist of three individual one week workshops which include intensive exercises and activities designed to consolidate the integration of theory and practice.
