Neuro-Linguistic Programming

Training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) benefits people who wish to maximise the power of communication with others. It is ideal for those involved with training and presentation, education, human resources, management, sales and marketing, mediation and negotiation, performance coaching or counselling.

Neuro refers to an understanding of the brain and how it functions. Linguistic refers to communication, both verbal and non-verbal. Programming refers to those learnt patterns of behaviour that we so comfortably use in our daily lives.

NLP is a behavioural technology. It is used to develop an understanding of how people make meaning of their experience. Learners gain and apply skills for effective interactions with others, build rapport, understand and apply non-verbal and verbal communication and develop an appreciation of the relationship between conscious and unconscious processes at work in all our interactions.

The College offers accredited training in NLP that may be undertaken as either single modules or as part of a course sequence within a qualification. There are three NLP modules available (see below for links).

Through the successful completion of all three NLP modules and some additional activities, students are eligible to apply for the INLPTA Practitioners Certificate (International Neuro-Linguistic Programming Trainers Association). INLPTA is a unified accreditation body based on a consistency of quality in accreditation standards, professional conduct and ethical application of NLP technology.

I used to work for a large marketing company where I did client negotiations, statistical reporting and financial planning. The bottom line was more important than the people. I wanted a change where people were the priority.

ACAP has given me the opportunity to drive my next career in that direction. The College leads by example - here people always come first.
