Professional Development

The College provides programs and services for two types of professional groups.

  • Qualified Psychologists - we provide programs for those who are seeking state registration as a psychologist or counsellor. For these professionals we offer specific supervision programs to meet registration requirements.
  • All Professionals - we provide an extensive range of short courses for professionals of all backgrounds who want to improve their capacity for working and communicating with people.

Professional development

Continuing education is an integral part of the lives of professional people. To maintain and broaden career development and options, professionals need to be in a process of life long learning - developing new skills and adapting to changing work environments.

If your work involves communicating, managing and motivating people, then applied psychology skills may contribute to more successful outcomes.

Our modules provide a wide range of short course options - from Conflict Management to Managing in Ambiguity and Change to Strategic Management and Planning.

In addition, modules are offered in an On Campus, Distance Education or Online format providing flexibility. A Statement of Attainment is awarded on completion of the module. Click to view a complete list of all the Modules on offer.

Professional registration and maintenance

Many professionals belong to organisations that require certain levels of training and experience for registration or status. Often there is a requirement to maintain standards through continuous professional development and training.

The College is currently working with a variety of professional groups and associations to provide relevant programs to meet their members ongoing needs.

For professional counsellors and psychotherapists we offer a supervision program that is high quality, cost-effective and which meets PACFA requirements.

I used to work for a large marketing company where I did client negotiations, statistical reporting and financial planning. The bottom line was more important than the people. I wanted a change where people were the priority.

ACAP has given me the opportunity to drive my next career in that direction. The College leads by example - here people always come first.
