Counselling scholarships

ACAP offers two undergraduate and two postgraduate scholarships which, for the successful applicants, will cover 50% of their ACAP course fees.

The ATSI Scholarship for the Bachelor of Applied Social Science is specifically for those students of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander origin.

Two other scholarships are named after long-time supporters of the College:

Psychology scholarships

There are up to eight scholarships available for students undertaking the Bachelor of Psychological Sciences:

Scholarships will cover fees for all units of study. Students can apply for:*
1. Academic excellence awards (two scholarships)
2. Rural/regional awards (two scholarships)
3. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander awards (two scholarships)

*two additional scholarships may be awarded in any of the categories above.

Psychology Scholarships Criteria 

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander

  1. Adherence to criteria for categorisation as member of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community
  2. Rank order from top according to scores that apply to the candidate (school leaver or mature entry)
  3. A decision by Head of School on award, taking account of nature of entry. The School of Psychological Sciences reserves the right to conduct an interview of candidates in the event of possible tied scores or where additional evidence may be seen as desirable.

Regional and Rural

  1. Adherence to ABS criteria for living in rural, remote or regional Australia.
  2. Application of same criteria as for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander award.

Academic Excellence

  1. Rank order of entry scores
  2. Additional information relevant to academic excellence may be considered in the event of a strong competitive field. Academic scores, evidence of breadth of academic interests and achievements, community involvement, success in the arts, sporting achievements and other academically relevant areas may be included in the application.
