She also headed up the Allied health Team at The Sydney Clinic which is a 44 bed Private Psychiatric Hospital. At ACAP Kate now works as an Educator and Supervises intern psychologists enrolled in the College’s Psychologists Registration Supervision Program. She is also a Senior Professional Advisor at ACAP. Kate has a private practice in the inner west of Sydney, where she sees adults with a history of trauma.

She brings to her roles a passion for education and a love of experiential learning. Kate has been involved with teaching and training for most of her adult life and arrived at ACAP with a determination to pass on her wisdom and knowledge to the next generation of dedicated counsellors and Psychologists.

Kate explains: “At ACAP students are given a unique opportunity to learn in an exciting interactive environment. At ACAP the students are encouraged to find their own voice as a counsellor and/or psychologist. Unlike the sandstone Universities ACAP is integrative and actively encourages differences in theoretical and practical opinion.”

The dedication of educators combined with a curriculum that is so experiential gave me confidence to establish a private practice drawing on my previous professional and personal experience. My work is split between two passions, providing grief counselling to men who have partners with cancer and corporate coaching to middle managers, as individuals and in groups, to assist them become more effective people managers.
