Why study this course

The Bachelor of Applied Social Science (B App Soc Sci) is a highly experiential course which combines theory and practice in an interactive learning environment consisting of small classes, group discussions, activities and role-plays. While studying this course you will learn contemporary communication and management theories as well as practical skills and people management tools which you will be able to apply to a variety of work-related fields.

The B App Soc Sci is an undergraduate degree which can be taken with either a specialisation in counselling, management, coaching or without a specialisation. If you undertake the B App Soc Sci you enrol in a generic first year then choose the specialisation you are interested in before you start your second year. This gives you time to gain an understanding of the areas that interest you the most so you are able to make a more informed decision when it comes to selecting the area you want to specialise in.

The B App Soc Sci also includes two student placements meaning you gain experience in your area of interest before you graduate, giving you an advantage when it comes to entering the work place.

Career outcomes

Graduates of the B App Soc Sci will be well suited for entry level employment in public, private and not-for-profit organisations.
