Distance Education

Distance Education offers the student a convenient, comprehensive and supportive learning environment.

Distance Education (DE) students receive the printed course materials for each module at the beginning of each term, or access them online at ‘my.acap’. They then need to purchase the textbook and either purchase, from selected bookstores, or download (free of charge) the readings from the web.

Interaction with the educator occurs through‘telephone tutorials’ and by arrangement
via email and telephone. DE students can join the ‘DE student network’ which fosters
communication between DE students who are studying the same module or live in the same postcode area.

Students who study by DE need to have a postal address, an email address and access to the internet.

Studying by Distance was practical, easy to follow, interactive and thorough. Intensive Skills workshops were an invaluable component and provided me with an opportunity to network, validate my learning, practise newly acquired skills and observe and learn from the techniques, knowledge and experiences of others. I found the educators and College staff readily contactable, warm and generous in the time, resources and support they offered.
