Our Philosophy

The College's approach to education and training is based on six principles:

Build a community of learning

Our experiential approach means students play an integral role in the learning process. The student-educator relationship is based on mutual respect. This contributes to a community of learning where all students are empowered to develop professionally.

Let diversity thrive

The College attracts a diverse range of students and staff of all ages and from varied cultural and professional backgrounds. Our multicultural environment has immense potential to enrich your learning.

Foster personal development

Personal development is an essential part of the learning process. For some students, it is the main reason for studying. For others it is a rewarding additional benefit. Regardless, personal development is fostered in a safe and supportive environment.

Be practical

The curriculum and the interactive learning environment provide opportunity to discuss, apply, test, reflect, evaluate and acquire 'hands on' skills that can be introduced immediately into your personal and professional life.

Practising educators

College educators bring with them a passion for learning and a desire to demonstrate how skills can be applied in the real world. They are professional practitioners with current industry knowledge. Their academic qualifications and experience contribute to an exciting learning environment.

Provide accessible pathways

The College provides a range of pathways with various entry and exit points from Certificate through to Masters qualifications. We also work rigorously to meet the skill and knowledge needs of employers, professional bodies and other relevant stakeholders.

I found ACAP to be one of the most nourishing experiences of education that I have embarked on. It has been a challenging journey, that has been guided by wonderful people. It helped me to discover some of my own truths, which is imperative to helping others discover their own.
