The ACAP Alumni Team is pleased to have Claire Edwards present our next professional development workshop in Brisbane on;

An Experiential Introduction to Art Therapy

Claire Edwards has been an art therapist for over 30 years. Having trained in England and migrated to Brisbane, Claire helped establish Masters level professional art therapy education at University of Queensland, in the School of Medicine (Masters of Mental Health - Art Therapy).

Claire has worked as an art therapist with adults, children, young people and families in the community sector (drug and alcohol rehab, mental health rehabilitation, family support with a child safety focus, counselling children and family therapy) and in health services (Child and Youth Mental Health).

She continues to teach art therapy students at UQ, work in the community sector, and in private practice at

Claire has requested that participants bring to the session (if possible)

  • A3 cartridge paper
  • oil pastels 
  • glue sticks
  • scissors
  • collage materials (magazines, tissue paper, old wrapping paper, etc.) and any other preferred materials.

By attending this event you will receive a certificate crediting you with 3 PD hours.

Registrations are crucial as places are limited. Please register via the online form. Registrations will be via Eventrbrite and you will receive an email confirming your registration.

Over the past few months some alumni have requested an opportunity to invite colleagues to our alumni sessions.  We have decided to make a limited number of places at this session for you to invite colleagues who may benefit from attending these session with you. Registrations for these places are at a cost of $20 and are ticketed as "non Alumni ticket". Whilst the number of these tickets is limited, more tickets may be released one week prior to the event if alumni places are not filled.
