Trauma of Recovery from Addictions
For many people recovering from an addiction is very challenging psychologically, spiritually, physically and socially. Not only has past trauma been medicated by the substance or behavioural activity that initially gave them relief, but its cessation causes severe trauma.

This presentation will cover trauma and addiction and the process of recovery, noting that the addiction and trauma needs to be acknowledged and treated simultaneously in the recovery process. Jeff will also look at how the Kubler Ross model of grief and loss plays a significant part in the recovery process. A longtitudinal case study of 15 years will also be presented to help create discussion and reflection.

By attending this event you will receive a certificate crediting you with 3 CPE hours.

Registrations are crucial as places are limited. Please register via the online form. Registrations will be via Eventrbrite and you will receive an email confirming your registration.

We look forward to receiving your registration and seeing you at the session.
