Diploma of Counselling (CHC51708)


The Diploma of Counselling is a nationally recognised course that provides the first step towards a career in Counselling and entry into the counselling profession. This course provides students with general counselling skills and knowledge including; communications skills, knowledge of a range of commonly used counselling modalities, referral skills and the ability to work within an organisations policies and procedures. 

This course is part of the Community Services Training Package CHC08.  The College has been advised by the  Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), the national VET regulator  that the Diploma of Counselling course has been updated and as a consequence has a new course code of CHC51712.  The introduction of this new qualification begins for all new students in Term 1, 2013.  

Students enrolled prior to Term 1, 2013 who have not completed all course sequence requirements prior to the end of Term 1, 2013 will be assisted to transition to the new qualification.
