Master of Applied Social Science (MASS) (Counselling)

On completion of the Master of Applied Social Science (Counselling) with its practicum requirements, students will be eligible for Associate Membership of state-based Counsellor Associations, which are member associations of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).

Associate membership means that the required number of hours of training has been completed and the person has begun practising as a counsellor with a current contract for supervision.

Once the required number of hours (750) of counselling practice, and the required number of hours (75) of supervision have been accumulated, the person then becomes eligible for Clinical Membership and for listing on PACFA's national register of counsellors.
