Volunteering- get started now to ‘unlock’ employment opportunities

Volunteering is the NUMBER ONE way to ‘unlock opportunities’ for students to gain employment when they graduate (or a student placement opportunity first). Most employers want experience in the industry. Find an organisation where you would like to work after you qualify and start volunteering there or somewhere similar now.  It's a ‘foot in the door’ for the future. Search for Volunteer Opportunities here.

Employment Opportunities

From time to time employers contact ACAP seeking students or graduate candidates for paid jobs. These positions are advertised on the Paid Employment web page. These pages also contain links to all major job boards that advertise positions throughout Australia in the community, government, private practice and not for profit human sectors. Research requirements now in preparation for graduation ACAP Paid Employment Page.

A step forward into the future...ACAP prepares for the move to Navitas Sydney Campus at 255 Elizabeth Street.

Have you heard? We are moving campus in 2016...

Dear students,

For many years, Wynyard Green has been a place to facilitate learning and connect with each other. As the end of our lease at Wynyard Green approached, we had a great opportunity to reconsider the environment we wanted to create. We wanted an environment that would reflect the changing needs of your student learning spaces and the ACAP vision for the future. This process led to the decision to move.

Why the move?

ACAP is part of Australian education company Navitas. Many Navitas colleges are currently located at Wynyard Green. Wynyard Green has been a great home for ACAP in Sydney for many years, but it is no longer suitable for our needs.

Education is continually evolving, and we have a strong commitment to ensuring that you and our staff have access to the best and most supportive learning and working environment. With the help of property and design experts we have developed a modern and highly adaptable space that encourages personal engagement and connection.

Where are we moving to?

The Navitas Sydney Campus will be located at 255 Elizabeth Street. Opposite Hyde Park, our new A-grade building is centrally located near Museum and Town Hall train stations and major bus routes. It's also close to cafes, shops, Chinatown and various services.

When are we moving?

Building renovations in our new location are currently underway, with the move expected to commence from June 2016. Navitas Colleges will move in stages from June to August 2016, and you will be provided with further updates as we get closer to that point.

What can I do now to prepare for the move?

At the moment, there is no need to do anything, although you may like to familiarise yourself with the location, rail and bus connections and the general area. We will be posting information about local facilities in future updates.

There's probably still so much you'd like to know about the move, so we will keep you regularly informed over the coming months via emails, posters around campus, and your student portal. In the meantime, you can read our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on the ACAP website under the “News” section here: http://www.acap.edu.au/news-container-/student-experience-the-top-priority-at-new-acap-sydney-campus-/

If you have further questions, you can ask student administration, reception or email SydneyCampusMove2016@acap.edu.au.

Kind regards,

Scott Dickson

Safety around the Sydney Campus
