In August 2004 the Australian Minister for Education, Science and Training approved the College's application to become a Higher Education Provider (HEP) under the Higher Education Support Act 2003. This has many positive implications for the College and its current and new students. This represents the highest level of recognition of the College's standing as an education institution. The College was among the very first applicants to be approved by the Minister, after thorough scrutiny of its credentials, viability and reputation. The College will be reviewed and audited by the body that audits Australia's universities. The College's Higher Education awards are fully recognised, nationally and internationally, at a level equivalent to universities.
