Study Modes
At ACAP you have the option to choose your mode of study for each module or unit, each term. This flexibility takes into account your family, life, work and other commitments. You have the option of studying on-campus, by flexible delivery or in a combination of both.
You can select different modes of study for different modules or units in a given term and you can change the mode of study you select when you enrol each term. However, once you have started a module in a particular mode of study for a term you need to complete the module or unit in the mode selected.
About the different study modes
On-campus study in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide or Melbourne
On-campus study requires you to attend one three hour class per week on-campus for each of the modules or units you are studying. So, if you are taking three modules or units you will spend nine hours in classes per week. Classes provide an interactive and hands-in experience, which allows your educator to provide immediate feedback on your work in class.
Flexible delivery
Studying flexibly offers you the chance to study anywhere, anytime. All classes delivered flexibly have an online class space, accessible to the class group and the educator. The online class space contains course materials, discussion forums and announcements, participant profiles and assessment drop boxes.
Students who study via flexible delivery work their way through the comprehensive course manual which can be purchased or downloaded from the ACAP website. The manual has been instructionally designed and is divided into twelve sections, corresponding with the twelve weeks of term. These materials guide your learning and study activity and prompt students to undertake activities in the online class space.
The educator is a constant presence in the online class space and makes regular announcements, answers questions, encourages and supports students.
If you prefer to read hard copy materials, the full course manual and reading pack are available for purchase from the Co-op and RMIT.
