About the Australian College of Applied Professions (‘ACAP’)

Formerly named the Australian College of Applied Psychology, The Australian College of Applied Professions (‘ACAP’) is a registered training organisation and higher education provider that specialises in delivering accredited courses in psychology, counselling, coaching, criminology, social work and business management and leadership (MBA).

Founded in 1983 and forming part of global education provider Navitas, ACAP is the sixth largest provider of psychology and human services programs in Australia, delivering higher education and vocational training to more than 4,000 students annually across campuses in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, and Byron Bay – as well as online.

Attracting diverse cohorts seeking new careers or career changes, ACAP outperforms the sector in providing access to education for students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, mature age, first-in-family to attend university or having a disability. Since its founding, more than 20,000 students have graduated from ACAP.

Studying at ACAP provides students with deep and real-world insights into why humans think and act the way we do, understanding the connection between an individual, society, culture, and industry. ACAP’s programs are professionally accredited, and students graduate with applied skills, hands-on confidence, and contemporary expertise.

Through course delivery, ACAP supports the Australian Government’s $2.3 billion Budget commitment to mental health care and suicide prevention and will help give Australians greater access to mental health professionals. With an 80% female cohort, ACAP is also helping to improve women’s economic security. The Australian Government’s website, Job Outlook, reports ‘very strong’ future growth opportunities for psychologists and psychotherapists, counsellors, social workers and social professionals.
