As of 2015, ACAP will be offering a new course - the Bachelor of Social Work.
ACAP’s Bachelor of Social Work is a four-year undergraduate degree for students who want to make a difference in the lives of others, providing an entry-level qualification into the social work profession.
The course is flexible, with a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) available for meritorious students in the fourth year of their studies. In addition, those who initially enrol in the Bachelor of Social Work and wish to exit early can do so at the completion of the second year, graduating with an Associate Degree of Human Services.
“The course is a good fit for recent Year 12 graduates, VET students who want to transition into Higher Education, mature aged students and those looking to move into careers in the human services sector.” said Professor Carolyn Noble, ACAP’s Head of School of Social Work. “We’re excited to be the first private provider in Australia to offer an undergraduate Social Work course.”
This is the third Social Work course for ACAP since the formation of the new School of Social Work six months ago. In addition to the Bachelor of Social Work, ACAP currently offers the Master of Social Work and Master of Social Work (Qualifying) on campus in Sydney.
The Bachelor of Social Work and the embedded Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) have been submitted to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for professional accreditation. The course will be offered on-campus in Sydney from Trimester 1 2015, with classes starting on Monday 16 February 2015.
