If you want to work with and support young people across a wide range of services such as recreation, education, health, welfare and juvenile justice and protection, then the Diploma of Youth Work CHC50413 could be for you.
This course covers different types of youth work including case work, community development and program development. You’ll learn about issues confronting many young people such as family breakdown, homelessness and mental health, graduating with the skills you need to support and empower them.
What’s more, this one year course also includes 210 hours of fully supervised work placement, giving you industry experience before you graduate. You’ll also have a Placement Mentor to assist you, as well as small classes and practical, workplace-based assessments and learning material.
On successful completion of this course, you will be eligible for direct entry into the second year of ACAP’s Bachelor of Social Work, with credit for 8 units.
The Diploma of Youth Work CHC50413 is available on-campus in Sydney and we’re currently taking enrolments. Classes start 1 June, 2015
