Storytelling in Therapy: an interactive exploration of therapeutic stories

Pam Blamey is passionate about fairy tales and myths, because there is more to them than just ‘happily ever after’. They are full of symbolism and metaphor, which nourish the spirit. They are part of the social environment, depicting in story form the highs and lows of the human condition. Pam has degrees in Social Science and Art Therapy and 29 years in the counselling field. Myths and fairy tales can be used to examine many issues, foster insight and imagination, and to explore creativity.

During this session Pam will cover the following topics:

  • Story of my engagement with fairy tales and traditional oral storytelling
  • What are fairy tales and myths?
  • Why are stories important?
  • How can we use stories in therapy?

Registrations will be via Eventbrite and you will receive an email confirming your registration.

By attending this event you will receive a certificate crediting you with 2.5 PD hours.
