Dr Sue Burney is head of The Szalmuk Family Psycho-oncology Unit at Cabrini Health, Malvern and Adjunct Senior Lecturer, School of Psychology and Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University. She is also a Clinical Associate of the Australian Catholic University. Sue is a registered Health and Counselling Psychologist, a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and a member of the APS Health and Counselling Colleges. Until recently she also worked clinically in palliative care at Cabrini Prahran.
In her role as head of the psycho-oncology unit she is the lead investigator on a range of research projects concerned with the lived experience of cancer and palliative care patients, the side effects of cancer treatment, and the supportive care needs of patients, their carers, and families. As an outcome of her research she has published widely in cancer and palliative care journals. Sue is involved in supervising postgraduate psychology research and clinical placement students at Cabrini and is a member of many local and international cancer organisations.

Over the past few months some alumni have requested an opportunity to invite colleagues to our alumni sessions. We have decided to make a limited number of places at this session for you to invite colleagues who may benefit from attending these session with you. Registrations for these places are at a cost of $20 and are ticketed as "non Alumni ticket". Whilst the number of these tickets is limited, more tickets may be released one week prior to the event if alumni places are not filled.
