Dr Vered Gordon has been working in general practice in the Northern Beaches of Sydney for over twenty years. In recent years, she has focused specifically on the areas of mental health and counselling which now comprise the greater part of her practice.
Dr Gordon has undergone extensive training in her special interest area including attaining a Diploma of Shared Care in Psychiatry with the NSW Institute of Psychiatry and a Graduate Diploma in Systemic Relationship Therapy. She is also a fellow of the Australian Society for Psychological Medicine.
Dr Gordon is currently General Practice Program Developer at the Black Dog Institute and facilitates education in mood disorders for GPs and psychologists
In this session Dr Gordon will cover the following topics:
- Define the term ‘difficult to treat’ depression
- List the common factors that underpin difficult to treat depressions
- Identify common conditions and co-morbidities that may present as difficult to treat depression
- Use a systemic based approach to work through treatment options for the patient with difficult to treat depression
