Helping hand for VET students

The new ACAP VET Student Success Program pairs Diploma students with campus-based Success Advisers. The free service is designed to ensure confident study planning and effective progress during the course.

“Our Success Advisers fully understand the Diploma programs and the courses’ learning milestones,” said Catherine Tracey, Head of VET, NPI.

“Regular contact is scheduled with each student at six key stages during the course for each subject, to provide assistance when it is most timely.”

Six steps to success

Providing assistance with assessment support is a highlight of the six-stage program where students can be referred to the right place to seek assistance with preparation, research or essay-writing skills.

Other mentoring checkpoints occur after the first three weeks of classes to ensure the study load is manageable; at the halfway point, and as trimesters come to a close.

“VET students are automatically enrolled in the Student Success Program,” said Catherine.

“Once the preferred method of contact is established, communication between the parties continues until graduation.”

ACAP offers three Diplomas as standalone courses which can also be used as pathway entry to undergraduate programs in Psychology, Coaching or Social Science.
