The Master of Social Work is aimed at social work practitioners already employed in the human services sector who wish to advance their career by increasing their skills in advanced practice, supervision and leadership. This course is also suitable for practitioners re-entering the workforce and wanting to update their knowledge and skills. Graduates from this course will be able to extend their career options and be promoted in the Health and Community Services Industry with a postgraduate qualification in social work.

Students will enter the course with a completed Bachelor of Social Work and have an opportunity to undertake postgraduate practice linked study, and thus explore new academic knowledge aimed to advance their career opportunities in a growing employment market.

In this program particular attention is given to contemporary national and international issues and debates and recent developments in practice and policy, nationally and internationally, and curricula that address the importance of leadership and professional supervision in enhancing the continued development of the profession.
