Project 1 provides students with a unique opportunity to work in a simulated learning context to plan a project relevant to the human services field. In Project 1, students will be provided with a case study topic around which the project will be designed. In this third year unit, student will develop skills in project planning, defining stakeholders, and critically analysing the body of literature that is relevant to the topic.
On completion of this unit students should be able to:
a) identify, map and critically reflect on the important dimensions of a simulated human services project
b) develop a high quality project proposal that clearly outlines the rationale, brief literature overview, project aims and intended outcomes
c) undertake an extensive literature search on the project topic, using the library electronic data bases and other appropriate resources
d) critically analyse the relevant body of literature with regards to areas of agreement and controversy, themes arising from research, gaps in the literature and major contributors to research in food relief/ hunger in Australia
e) write a literature review that clearly demonstrates the findings and analysis for the body of literature on food relief/ hunger in Australia
