When you commence with Navitas, you will receive an Educator ID number* consisting of six digits, which you can use to log in to the online student portal and your College email. If you require any assistance with logging in, please contact the IT Help Desk. If you have queries about getting started, please contact your faculty staff.
*Are you a teacher with no Educator ID? If you use Firstname.Lastname@navitas.com to log in, please see the “For Staff” section. Your account is managed differently.
IT HOW-TO GUIDES
Access a wide range of information and guides to support online learning and teaching processes, such as how to set up your computer to use technologies like Blackboard Collaborate & Turnitin, and edit your profile in the student portal.
An IT support service for students and teachers for a broad range of services including online lectures and tutorials, submitting assignments and technical problems. We are happy to help with any queries you may have – for example, are you thinking of using a new technology? – and we will always provide a prompt response and try to connect you with assistance or online information.

Note: The IT Helpdesk team does not offer support for personally-owned mobile devices in regard to:
- System upgrades/Backup, Software purchase or installation.
- Charging of devices at school.
- Security, integrity, insurance, and maintenance.
- Private network accounts.
- The technicians are not responsible for tutoring. We do not support any kind of games, illegal downloading software.
- Our technicians will not be responsible for any software issues created and/or caused by the “end user” such as the virus, spyware.
Teaching staff have dedicated printers available in teaching staffrooms, supported by the IT Help Desk.
All computers are connected to the internet and local printers, with Microsoft Office and any additional software installed as requested by the College, supported by the IT Help Desk.

Please note that the login username uses the backslash (\) after the word “students”.
Fast, secure, wireless internet is available across Navitas Professional Institute campuses for Wi-Fi-enabled laptop or mobile devices, with support from the IT Help Desk.
1. Select the Navitas Wireless network for your location, e.g. Navitas Sydney. You will be taken to a green, Navitas page in your web browser to log in using your username and usual password.
2. Enter your username and password.

Window 7 users:
The Navitas Students WIFI is configured with PEAP and using local users (no RADIUS). The users who on Windows 7 might be experiencing the issues connecting to the WIFI. We suggest using an external device to connect the WIFI. (Example USB WIFI dongle)
All other OS (Android, Apple iOS, Windows 8, 8.1, 10, OSX) do not suffer a similar issue.
Most classrooms will be equipped with a networked computer with audio-visual components including a projector, while some utilise Interactive White Boards. Computers all run a Windows operating system and include additional software to the Microsoft Office suite and video players, such as ECHO 360 Lecture Capture and any additional programs requested to be installed by the College. The IT Help Desk provides support for these classroom technologies.
Telephone, computer and printing services are available in all teacher staffrooms, supported by the IT Help Desk. All computers run a Windows operating system with Microsoft Office programs installed, as well as any additional programs as requested by the College.
Drop-in IT support is available in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane campuses for any College-related queries. Please visit reception and ask for IT assistance or call us directly.
Electronic mailboxes are provided to all teachers prior to the commencement of teaching with the College. Your College mailbox name will use your Educator ID number in the format E12345@my.<college>.edu.au and each mailbox will also be able to receive email sent to your FirstName.LastName@my.<college>.edu.au (except where the same name is already in use, in which case a digit will be added after your last name in the email address).

Teachers may opt to use their own personal mailbox and have all College emails forwarded immediately to their personal mailbox. For more information on email forwarding, see:

All teachers are provided with access to the online student portal and areas relevant to their teaching within the portal. The online student portal houses a suite of learning technologies and applications, including Moodle, Blackboard Collaborate, and faculy and teacher resource areas within My Classes.

The following software programs are free to download HERE for teaching staff and are recommended to install: web browser (Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox), Adobe Flash Player, Java, Adobe PDF Reader, VLC Media Player, Handbrake, and EndNote Referencing Software.
Help is available in many places for our teaching staff.
For any processes specific to your teaching, such as grading papers online and managing your lecture recordings, an eLearning Support team is available through the Learning Teaching Technologies (LTECH) team. The LTECH team publish guides and information in the student portal Moodle area for teachers. They are also available to help or provide expert advice; simply email ServiceDesk@navitas.com and your email will be directed to the LTECH team.
When you commence your teaching, you will receive an email containing your login details. We strongly recommend you change your password immediately to a stronger password. Strong passwords don’t use word of number patters (e.g. abcd, 1234), don’t use easily obtained information (e.g. your name, birth date, initials) and include at least 8 characters (including one number, an uppercase and lowercase letter).
Never share your password. We will never contact you by phone or email and request your password. Do not give your password to anyone claiming to be a Navitas or College staff member. This includes email messages that ask you to click on a link to log into your account.
