Family Therapist, Stimulant Services, St Vincent's Hospital Alcohol and Drug Service

Counsellor (Level 4) Part Time - 16 hours/week - Fixed term contract until June 2020.

A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Family Therapist with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care.

The Stimulant Services Family Therapist will work as part of the Alcohol and Drug Service, St Vincent’s Health Sydney. This position will be responsible for delivering high quality, professional treatment to young people who use methamphetamine, cocaine and MDMA and/or their families. Service delivery will be provided both onsite at St Vincent’s Hospital and within partner organisations. The family therapist will identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice; develop or lead ongoing quality improvement activities and contribute to the review and development of the service’s policy and procedures. The position will work alongside a youth counsellor to engage young people and their families, in brief intervention, case management, and family based counselling interventions within a harm minimisation framework. This position is responsible for building and enhancing partnerships with internal and external services. The family therapist will be required to ensure that appropriate treatment is conducted in consultation with clients of the service including the development of care plans, gathering of outcome measures and participating in clinical review processes. The position will provide support and advice to the Manager and Clinical Lead of Stimulant Services.

Youth Counsellor, Stimulant Services, St Vincent’s Hospital Alcohol and Drug Service

Counsellor (Level 3) Full Time - Fixed term contract until June 2020.

A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Counsellor with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care.

The Stimulant Services Youth Counsellor will work as part of the Alcohol and Drug Service, St Vincent’s Health Sydney. This position will be responsible for delivering high quality, professional treatment to young people who use methamphetamine, cocaine and MDMA. Service delivery will be provided both onsite at St Vincent’s Hospital and within partner organisations. This position is responsible for building and enhancing partnerships with internal and external services, engaging young people and/or their families, in brief intervention, case management, and counselling based treatment as well as providing early intervention and harm minimisation. The position is required to ensure that appropriate treatment is conducted in consultation with clients of the service including the development of care plans, gathering of outcome measures and participating in clinical review processes. The Youth Counsellor will work closely with the Stimulant Services Family Therapist.
