Holiday Period - Operating Hours

As we approach the end of 2018, there are a few key updates to share with you:

  • ACAP will close for Christmas break from 12pm on Friday 21st December until 9am on Monday 7th of January 2019. During this time all Campuses will be closed, and the phone line and inboxes will not be staffed. If there is anything urgent you need before this date, we recommend that you reach out to us soon, if not we will return all enquiries after the 7th of January.

  • The Student Counselling Service will be closed on all campuses from Thursday 20 December, 2018 to Monday 7 January, 2019 inclusive. The Student Counselling Service will re-open on Tuesday 8 January, 2019 and will resume standard service days in Week 1 of Trimester 1 2019.

  • Classes for Trimester 1, 2019 start on week commencing Monday 4th of February 2019.

  • Enrolments for Trimester 1, 2019 are now open, and we do recommend enrolling sooner rather than later as class spaces can fill up. If you need any assistance in your enrolment or are unsure what options are available to you, then please contact us on 1800 061 199 and one of our team will be able to assist you.

We wish you all a happy, restful and safe holiday season, and we look forward to having you back in Trimester 1 2019.

Opal Concession Card:

As Trimester 1 has now finished, you may no longer be eligible for the concession card. Please see below for eligibility requirements and for more information.

Am I eligible?

  • I am doing a minimum of 2 units on campus (Higher Education) in T2, 2018
  • or I am doing a minimum of 3 units on campus (VET) in T2, 2018
  • Have I filled out a consent form?

I'm only doing 1 unit, but I'm on placement, am I eligible?

  • Please contact your school (social work, VET, post grad or undergrad) to be given permission to be on the Opal report

I am eligible but Opal has emailed me stating my card is about to expire, why?

  • If you have enrolled in units recently, you may not be on the latest report. If you are enrolled in 2 units (HE) and 3 units (VET) on campus then please disregard the message form Opal as it is just a reminder to enrol.

I have previously had confirmation from the placement team, do I need to ask them again?

  • If you are still on placement, then no. You will automatically be on the next Opal report

I am eligible! How do I get an Opal card?

  1. call/ email the admin team for an Opal consent form (this gives ACAP permission to tell Opal that you are a student with us). Fill this form out and send it back to
  2. Every Wednesday, ACAP sends out a report of students who have provided consent and are eligible
  3. Log onto the Opal website ( the following Monday apply for a concession card.
  • Note, filling out a consent form DOES NOT mean you have applied for a concession card. You will need to do this yourself. Opal will then send a card to your home address. You can not pick this up from Admin.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the student administration team on 1800 061 199 or email us at
