At ACAP we are committed to providing appropriate and reasonable adjustments to students with a disability or chronic health condition. If you have a disability, illness, injury or health condition that impacts on your academic studies, or if you care for someone in these circumstances, then you may be eligible to apply.
The AccessAbility office’s main role is to organise reasonable adjustments so that you can have an equal opportunity to successfully complete your studies and meet the inherent requirements of a course. These adjustments are organised on a case by case basis. The reasonable adjustments must not fundamentally change the nature of the inherent requirement of a course.
How do students register for support?
1. Early in the trimester, send an enquiry email to Accessability@acap.edu.au (Your enquiry re registration will be responded to within 3 working days).
2. An AccessAbility Advisor will contact you to discuss your eligibility and, if appropriate, will discuss reasonable adjustments for your individual situation.
3. Once an interview has taken place, the advisor will provide you with our Registration Forms, one of which your Health Practitioner completes.
4. Once we receive your completed forms and all the paperwork, we work with you to provide practical, individualized supports that will assist you to succeed with your studies (This can take from one to three weeks depending on the type of adjustments).
Please contact us via email with your enquiry. We look forward to hearing from you.
