At ACAP we know that the challenge of having health issues can affect study at different times. We also know that there are many faces of disabilities and health related issues. They can be permanent or temporary and include chronic medical conditions, hearing or vision impairment and mental health issues. They can also include a temporary injury or illness, a learning disability, or being a carer for someone with health issues.
Part of our role at AccessAbility is to provide you with the support and services that you need to have an equal opportunity to successfully complete your studies and enjoy your experience at ACAP.
How do we do this?
We start with a conversation to identify your needs and the services and assistance that would be helpful to you.
We then provide you with our Registration Forms, one of which your Health Practitioner completes.
Once we receive your completed forms, we work with you to provide practical, individualized supports that will assist you to succeed with your studies.
Examples of the support we can provide includes;
- Note takers
- Electronic texts
- Exam supports
- Physical supports on campus
- Flexibility with assignment deadlines
I look forward to hearing from you.
