Overview
Anna joined ACAP in 2022 is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology, and a Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Psychological Science and Counselling (BPsySciCou).
Anna completed her PhD with Vice Chancellor’s Medal for PhD excellence (2014, Griffith University) and Graduate Student Research Award (2015, Society for Vocational Psychology, div17 of the APA). With more than a decade teaching in a tertiary sector, most recently Anna worked at Southern Cross University (SCU Gold Coast) as a Lecturer, Unit Assessor, HDR supervisor, and Gold Coast Campus Lead. She also worked previously as a career development practitioner (University of Southern Queensland and SCU) and a researcher (Metro North Mental Health and Griffith University). She is a consulting editor for the Journal of Career Assessment and registered PhD supervisor (SCU).
Anna is a dedicated, student-focused educator teaching across the broad spectrum of psychology, although has developed expertise in teaching quantitative research methods and statistics, scale development and psychometrics, and career development. She is also a passionate researcher and loves to spread her applied knowledge and enthusiasm through her teaching and research supervision.
Research
Anna’s research focuses on career development and, specifically, optimising career journeys and outcomes for people of all ages. She is especially interested in knowing what makes one’s work meaningful and purposeful, and how human and environmental factors influence people’s career progress and outcomes. She is also interested in scale development and psychometrics.
