Dr Gareth Merriman has several degrees in psychology including a Masters degree and a PhD in Sexology. He has specialised training in Counselling, Clinical and Forensic Psychology and Sexology. Gareth has worked in the sexuality and relationship counselling, education and consultancy field since 1988.
He has held several positions in this field: WA Government's Disability, Sexuality and Relationship Specialist; Head of Department of Sexology at Curtin University; President of the Australian Society of Sexuality Educators Researchers and Therapists (ASSERT); President of the WA Sexology Society; and is now full time in his busy private practice (established in 1996) Sexuality & Relationship Therapy Centre, Fremantle, Western Australia.
He works with all areas of sexuality and relationship therapy and provides training on these topics across Australia and Internationally.
In this presentation Gareth will cover aspects of:
- Feeling comfortable with a range of sexuality issues
- Working with and knowing your limits in sexuality therapy
- Common sexuality difficulties and strategies of assistance (also including aspects of disability, abuse and self-esteem enhancement).
By attending this event you will receive a certificate crediting you with 2.5 PD hours.
Registrations are crucial as places are limited. Please register via the online form. Registrations will be via Eventrbrite and you will receive an email confirming your registration.
There are a limited number of places at this session available for you to invite colleagues who may benefit from attending. Registrations for these places are at a cost of $20 and are ticketed as "non Alumni ticket". Whilst the number of these tickets is limited, more tickets may be released one week prior to the event if alumni places are not filled.
* We have recently noticed an increased number of attendees either withdrawing on the day or not attending. To ensure places are secured by Alumni that have a specific interest in the topic being presented, we have introduced a booking fee of $20. This fee will be refunded to those alumni who attend or cancel 24 hours before the event. We thank you for your understanding regarding this new process.
