The Truth of Addiction

Mike McKenzie has been a therapist in private practice and with the Salvation Army Positive Lifestyle Centre in Dandenong since 2007. To date he has clocked up nearly 8000 hours of counselling and group therapy work. His current main area of work is with clients who are from the Drug Court, Magistrates Court and with people on correction orders. Mike's goal in working with these clients is to help each individual gain back control of their lives, from the addiction's that hold them captive and in doing so, he hopes that he has helped them reunite with their families.
During this session Mike will discuss:
- What is Addiction?
- CBT's explanation of Addiction
- How to define "Who is an Addict"
- Small Group Work with Addictions
By attending this event you will receive a certificate crediting you with 2 PD hours.

Registrations will be via Eventbrite and you will receive an email confirming your registration.
Over the past few months some alumni have requested an opportunity to invite colleagues to our alumni sessions. We have decided to make a limited number of places at this session for you to invite colleagues who may benefit from attending these session with you. Registrations for these places are at a cost of $20 and are ticketed as "non Alumni ticket". Whilst the number of these tickets is limited, more tickets may be released one week prior to the event if alumni places are not filled.
