The ACAP Industry and Alumni team are excited to announce a partnership with Dr Judy Lovas on her two day professional development training: Psychoneuroimmunology & Evidence Based Relaxation Therapy.

We are pleased to be able to offer this training at a cost of $150 !

This 12 hour unit explores theory and practice of relaxation techniques to reduce anxiety, depression, pain, sleep disorders, trauma and chronic conditions. Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) examines links between neural, endocrine and immune functions and the impact of stress and relaxation on these functions. Relaxation therapies are evidence based, non-pharmacological, non-invasive and cost effective, clinical interventions. This unit provides psychologists and counsellors with simple efficacious relaxation skills that are supported by PNI, the science of mind body health.

Dr Judy Lovas teaches Introduction to Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) and Evidence based Relaxation Therapy. Judy clearly translates leading PNI research into clinical relevance and shares her passion for the science of mind body health. Her seminars highlight relaxation therapies as Focussed Psychological Strategies and important treatment options for chronic conditions such as anxiety, depression, pain, sleep disorders and trauma. In tertiary education, Judy teaches psychology, relaxation therapy, PNI and cellular health. Judy researched effects of massage therapy on immune function and demonstrated increased T and B cell function. Her PhD examined psychological and immunological outcomes of massage therapy and guided imagery on secondary conditions in people with spinal cord injury. 

Sydney born and based, Judy travels around Australia to teach, speak at conferences and present seminars in evidence based relaxation therapy and PNI to health and medical professionals. Between presentations, Judy practices the art of relaxation with family and friends.
