This 12 hour unit explores theory and practice of relaxation techniques to reduce anxiety, depression, pain, sleep disorders, trauma and chronic conditions. Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) examines links between neural, endocrine and immune functions and the impact of stress and relaxation on these functions. Relaxation therapies are evidence based, non-pharmacological, non-invasive and cost effective, clinical interventions. This unit provides psychologists and counsellors with simple efficacious relaxation skills that are supported by PNI, the science of mind body health.
Dr Judy Lovas teaches Introduction to Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) and Evidence based Relaxation Therapy. Judy clearly translates leading PNI research into clinical relevance and shares her passion for the science of mind body health. Her seminars highlight relaxation therapies as Focussed Psychological Strategies and important treatment options for chronic conditions such as anxiety, depression, pain, sleep disorders and trauma.
