Biography
Danielle’s experience spans a range of environments, including education, health, military, private practice, and organisational settings. Her academic and clinical background has fostered a deep appreciation of the complexity of mental health, particularly in relation to the strengths and limitations of existing assessment, diagnostic, and treatment systems. She completed a PhD at the University of Sydney in 2022 in the area of cognitive impairment and psychosocial adjustment following spinal cord injuries. This research included the publication of a meta-analysis and several articles that highlighted methodological problems in the concept and measurement of mild cognitive impairment, supporting a shift from pathological models of psychosocial rehabilitation to person-centred, recovery-oriented care.
Danielle's current research explores innovative person-centred approaches to women's mental health across the life course that integrate biological, psychological, and social perspectives alongside disease-focused models.
