Overview

An enthusiastic, dedicated, education-focused leader with 30+ years of practical experience in diverse learning and teaching contexts. Over 15 years of experience in the higher education sector, plus 17 years of teaching and curriculum development expertise. Highly recognised as a functional leader, working collaboratively with academics, professionals, and leaders on strategic projects and academic development programs, supporting innovative teaching and learning transformation. Led cross-disciplinary, interactive teaching development sessions. Managed and motivated team members to achieve high-quality outcomes and led large-scale learning initiatives across complex, dispersed workforces.

Extensive experience with education projects and working with educational development programs. Has undertaken research on professional learning frameworks and presented this work at conferences. Co-authored a journal article in a Q1 peer-reviewed journal (Teaching in Higher Education) with her doctoral supervisors and other PhD students. Has secured grant funding (from the Council of Australasian University Leaders in Learning and Teaching in 2019 and 2021) to develop a micro-credentialing framework for professional learning. Currently enrolled in the PhD program at Western Sydney University completing a doctoral thesis focusing on professional learning in HE transdisciplinary, meso-level-spaces.

Has a proven track record for cultivating positive working relationships and removing obstacles to build trust and enhance productivity, achieving improved workplace communication and team relationships and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders. Has mentored leaders, academics, curriculum, educational advisors, learning designers, and digital learning support teams to deliver strategies, quality educational outcomes and career milestones to exceed expectations.

Sessional Staff Teaching & Learning Program 2019 – 2023
The Sessional Academic Staff Orientation to Teaching Practice at Western aims to orient new sessional staff to learning and teaching at Western. The interactive program includes exploring contemporary, active learning environments along with engagement strategies to enhance student learning experiences. The program runs twice a year during autumn and spring terms.

ConTEACHi 2021- 2023
The ConTEACHi 2-hour event focuses on two streams – career progression and enhancing teaching practice for Sessional Academic staff. Each stream has three concurrent sessions focusing on career progression for those looking to take that next step and teaching practice with some unique opportunities to learn about critical elements of teaching that can be applied across classes, subjects and/or curriculum.
