Biography

I am a Social Work Lecturer in the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) program at ACAP University College in Sydney. I coordinate the unit SWSP6313 Interpersonal, Family and Structural Violence and am a member of the teaching team for SWSP6123 Research Methods.

I am also a PhD candidate in Social Work at the University of Sydney. My research examines the lived experiences of ethnically marginalised men of colour who use family violence. Parts of this work have been published in local and international academic journals. I am currently a recipient of the University of Sydney Postgraduate Award. I completed my Bachelor of Social Work with First Class Honours at the University of Sydney.

My social work background includes extensive frontline experience in refugee settlement, child protection, and family violence. Throughout my career, I have held roles across the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), the Education Centre Against Violence (ECAV), and various non-government organisations. In 2018, I received the Department’s (then FaCS) Excellence in Practice Award for my work with fathers who use family violence.
